My name is Alex Razumov, and I am originally from Russia. I have lived in the United States since 1998, when I came here with my mother, Elmira. The rest of my close family remained in Russia.
After graduating from high school, I joined the United States Navy, where I served for nearly four and a half years. The Navy became not only a great steppingstone for me as a young man, but also the place where I truly encountered the Lord Jesus. I believe it was the Lord who placed it in my mother’s heart to come to America, who moved our family from New York to New Jersey for my protection, and who led me to the Navy instead of the Marine Corps—where I ultimately found ministry. On October 10, 2005, I was baptized in Yokosuka, Japan, a moment that forever changed my life.
After my service, I was invited to help in ministry in Waukegan, Illinois. Living and serving there allowed me to grow spiritually and taught me how to minister to others. During that season, God blessed me with a job at the Navy base in the Public Works Department, which gave me the opportunity to continue volunteering with military ministry.
Today, I serve as the leader of a Military Ministry in Lindenhurst, Illinois. Recently, the Lord blessed me with a wonderful wife, Majorie Samedi, and together we have a son, Samuel—a precious gift from God. Through every season, the Lord has kept me, and I remain deeply grateful for His unending kindness.
