Ministry:
As a young sailor, Pastor Ulysse answered the call to ministry and was baptized in Jesus' name at Christian Fellowship Church's Waukegan location. Upon his honorable discharge from active service in 1993, he was ordained as a pastor returned to his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his faithful wife and helpmate, Lilline. He began to share the gospel with his friends and family, and reached out into the community. A church began to grow in his home. Soon, his home was no longer large enough for the gatherings and it became necessary to obtain a rented building for use as a sanctuary and fellowship center. In 1995, Pastor Ulysse was sent as a missionary of Christian Fellowship Church to begin a work in the nation of Haiti. He turned the reigns of the leadership of the Fort Lauderdale congregation to his assistant pastor and moved his family to Haiti. The church in Haiti began under a porch, and under Pastor Ulysses' guidance has grown into eight main churches and 20 fellowship groups across the country totaling over 2,500 members today. In support of this work, there are now 10 pastors, and a number of deacons and department heads to provide leadership and facilitate the work. As the church in Haiti grew, the need for a school grew as well. In Haiti, there is not a comprehensive educational system as exists in the United States. Often, the only way to obtain an education is through private schools. Through Pastor Ulysse's vision, passion, and dedication an accredited Christian school was established in 2001 which has had up to 700 students in attendance. The establishment of the school brought with it additional expenses for a principal, professional teachers, and administration staff. Most of the students were from poor families who could not afford the tuition. Working with the leadership of Christian Fellowship Church in the United States, Pastor Ulysse established a scholarship fund to sponsor each child that needed assistance which included all expenses for tuition, books, and meals at the school. Since the administration of the program was handled by existing staff at the U.S. main church and the school in Haiti, there were no administrative costs, so 100% of donations went directly to the sponsorship of the students. Pastor Ulysse was the founder and first president of "One Hope For Haiti," which has now become a stand-alone charitable organization with separate leadership. The work has now spread across the border to the Dominican Republic where there is currently one church with 150 members there, and 12 pastors, in addition to deacons.
